First-hand: our F5000LFP uses a used SunPower SPR-E20-330-COM array at 2S × 3P per MPPT input — 12 panels, the voltage/current ceiling for this exact panel/controller pairing. Series stops at 2 because 3 already reaches 195V at 25°C, past the 180V per-input ceiling. Parallel stops at 3 because 3 strings draw 19.6A against a 25A limit. Three strings need in-line fuses. The twelve-panel purchase totaled $1,140at $95 each (~$0.29/W). The write-up is the 12-panel build.
Manufacturer-published (manufacturer + retailer listings (pecron.com, Amazon B0GVMSFTXX, ShopSolar)): 5,120Wh, 7,200W AC, 240V outlet, 5,800W solar input (system max 6,400W), 123.9 lb. Best-case solar recharge from those specs: 0.9 h. Treat the recharge figure as a best-case estimate; runtime depends on the load and operating conditions. Our first-hand evidence covers the array and its panel purchase.
Our array uses 12 used SunPower SPR-E20-330-COM panels: 2 in series and 3 parallel strings on each input, totaling 3,960W of panel nameplate capacity. The documented panel spend is $1,140($95 per panel). The build write-up explains the panel choice, input limits, and eight-panel interim layout.
Specifications below are published figures; recharge hours are labeled best-case estimates. See our sources and calculation methods for the distinction between published specifications, estimates, and hands-on observations.
A watt-hour (Wh) is stored energy: watts × hours. A 1,000Wh pack can theoretically supply 100W for 10 hours, or 50W for 20 hours. Real runtime is shorter once you count inverter loss and idle draw.
Hours below are estimates from capacity ÷ labeled average watts. They are not first-hand measurements of an appliance we ran. The pack size in the table is a published watt-hour rating, not a runtime we measured.

Twelve used SunPower SPR-E20-330-COM panels, 2S × 3P on each of two 180V / 25A / 3,200W inputs. For this exact panel/controller pairing, series is capped at two because three already exceeds 180V at 25°C. Parallel is capped at three by the 25A limit, and three strings need in-line fuses. That math, including the $95-per-panel Marketplace purchase, is on the build page and the string sizing tool. Used-panel buying in general is on /used-solar-panels/.
An eight-panel interim (2S × 2P per input) with one Y-branch leg capped lets the array grow to twelve without re-pulling wire. At this site, adding a second F5000LFP cost more than the extra generation justified. The build write-up explains the choice.
Yes. Pecron F5000 is a shortened name for the Pecron F5000LFP.
With the unit we own and SunPower SPR-E20-330-COM modules, 12 panels at2S × 3P per MPPT input is the ceiling for this exact pairing. Full voltage, current, and fuse arithmetic is on the 12-panel build.
Runtime figures in the watt-hour explainer are labeled estimates based on average load. This site’s first-hand result is the array documented above; use the estimate to size a load, then confirm your own appliance draw.
